Terms of Service

These terms govern your use of CareerPilot AI. By signing up, you agree to them. Plain English version: be a normal user, don't abuse the service, we promise to be honest about what the product does and doesn't do.

The service

CareerPilot AI is an AI-powered job-search assistant. We aggregate live job listings, score them against your resume, and offer tools to tailor your resume, generate cover letters, track applications, and chat with an AI career coach.

Accounts

• You must be at least 16 years old to create an account.
• You're responsible for keeping your password secure. Don't share your account.
• Provide accurate information when you sign up. Don't impersonate other people.
• One account per person. Don't create multiple accounts to bypass the free trial.

Free trial and paid plans

The Free trial is genuinely free — no credit card required. It includes lifetime caps of 10 resume tailorings, 10 cover letters, 100 chat messages, 1 resume upload, and visibility into your top 50 job matches. These caps do not reset. When you reach a cap, you can upgrade to Pro or stop using that specific feature.

Prois $29/month or $290/year (yearly = 2 months free). It includes unlimited resume tailoring and cover letters, the full job feed, multi-resume version management, priority match recompute, daily email digest, and a fair-use cap of 500 chat messages per calendar month. You can cancel anytime — when billing is wired up, you'll retain access through the end of your paid period.

Billing is not active yet.Currently the Free plan and ADMIN bypass are the only active paths. We'll notify you in advance before paid billing goes live.

AI output disclaimer

Our AI tools are designed to ground everything in your actual resume — we prompt the models explicitly to refuse fabrication. That said, large language models can still make mistakes. You are responsible for reviewing every AI-generated output(tailored resumes, cover letters, chat advice) before sending it to an employer. We're a tool that accelerates your job search; we don't replace your judgment.

Your content

You retain all ownership of your resume, profile data, cover letters, and any text you input. By using the service, you grant us a limited license to process your content for the sole purpose of providing the features (parsing, scoring, tailoring, etc.). We never resell or republish your content.

Job listings

Job listings come from third-party sources (Adzuna, JSearch, Remotive, Greenhouse, Lever). We don't own these listings and can't guarantee their accuracy, availability, or that the role is still open. When you click "Apply," you're sent to the source site to complete your application — that interaction is governed by the source's own terms.

Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Scrape or systematically copy our job feed, match scores, or AI outputs.
• Use the service to spam recruiters, send bulk fraudulent applications, or harass anyone.
• Probe for security vulnerabilities without coordinating with us first via info@surgepulse.org.
• Resell CareerPilot under your own brand or build a competing service on top of our outputs.
• Upload resumes that aren't yours or that you don't have permission to process.
• Upload content that's illegal, infringing, or designed to manipulate our AI into producing harmful output.

Violations may result in account suspension or termination, at our discretion.

Cancellation and termination

You can cancel and delete your account anytime via Settings → Delete account. When you do, all your data is removed immediately and irreversibly. If we ever need to terminate your access for terms violations, we'll email you first unless it's a clear emergency (security incident, fraud, abuse).

Service availability

We aim for high uptime but don't guarantee 24/7 availability. We may take the service down for maintenance, updates, or unexpected issues. We'll do our best to communicate planned downtime in advance.

Disclaimer of warranties

The service is provided "as is" — without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We don't guarantee that using CareerPilot will land you a job, that scores accurately predict interview likelihood, or that the AI outputs will be perfect. We're providing tools; results depend on you, the market, and your applications.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent allowed by law, our total liability for any claim arising from your use of the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose (or $0 if you're on the Free plan). We're not liable for indirect damages (lost wages, missed opportunities, emotional distress).

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the United States and the State of Delaware, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.

Changes

We may update these terms over time. Material changes (new fees, expanded acceptable-use restrictions, etc.) will be communicated via email at least 7 days before they take effect. Continuing to use the service after the effective date means you accept the new terms.
